Join us as we sit with fellow seekers to explore self and the experience of our deepest selves.

Sunday, April 14th we will be covering the concept of Surrendering. We hear this word often, surrendering. What is it that we are actually surrendering to?  What are we surrendering from? What is it that we learn from the act of surrendering and how does it effect the quality of our life?  How does surrendering relate to our happiness?

During this 3 hour Sunday workshop we will be exploring and experiencing the art of surrendering.  We will be discovering our own divine intelligence through embodied practice. And we will walk away from our time together with an enlightened understanding of surrendering.

Join us as we sit with follow seekers to explore self and the experience of our deepest selves.

Sunday, March 10th we will be covering the concept of Identity : The Roles We Play. There are so many layers to the human experience.  There are the roles we play to be in relationship to ourselves and others.  We are going to study these roles and layers through conversation and practice to understand their function and how we can manage the way in which they serve us. Over the next few weeks reflect a bit on identity and how it plays out in your life.  Contemplate the layers, the roles and the ways in which you identify yourself.  And notice the actually practice and how it is affecting your life interactions with your new understanding of identity.  Allow yourself to arrive at an intention for our gathering and some talking points about your reflections and experiences.

Beyond Conscious Consumerism Panel

“Vote with your dollar” they say, every purchase counts. As New Yorkers who care about environmental and social justice we hear these calls to action all the time - if we just use our purchasing power to support the small, sustainable guys and boycott brands like WalMart we can change the world. But is voting with your dollar enough?

We invite you to join us for a discussion at Young & Able that will dive into the upsides and downsides of conscious consumerism - and the actions we can all take to push an ethical and sustainable agenda further than ever before. From transparent supply chains and empowering women to self care and political activism we will explore ways to take our ideals and turn them into effective change. If you have found yourself grappling with ways that you can concretely contribute to the well-being of people and planet, then this conversation is for you! Our expert panelists, including meditation teacher and former fashion industry insider, Gemma Lewis, will provide you with information, actionable next steps, and inspiration for going out and advocating for a better world beyond buying.

Tools in Tandem: Meditation & Free Writing

As a community we are prioritizing our understanding of wellness to include a complete, holistic, approach.  Our awareness is clear that spirit, mind and body all need the proper attention to live a life of balanced happiness.  Meditation is the leading, non-secular tool we use to tune inward, turn into and  attend to our spiritual and mental wellbeing.  Free-writing bridges the all-knowing highest-self and its outward expression.

If you’ve never meditated before, you’ve tried, but you struggle to maintain a regular practice, or if you are a regular meditator this course is for you.  This workshop is an introduction to the techniques of meditation and free writing and how they work together as tools in tandem to expanding self-wareness.  We will cover the basics, practice meditation, free-write and express the wisdoms that inform our personal growth as divine human beings.

Come, jump in and celebrate a new relationship with yourself.

Manifestation. Not Instant Gratification.

Manifestation. Not Instant Gratification.

What you want to create in your life requires your exquisite attention.

A Day-Long Urban Women's Retreat Exploring Meditation, Movement, and Creating What You Want in Your Life with Gemma Gambee & Kari Woldum

Manifestation is an art form. Our culture breeds this right-here, right-now, everything-I-want-and-more mentality. When we turn to manifest our deepest desires, we fall short in their creation because we haven’t activated the spacious attention that our dreams require.

At the intersection of movement and stillness, we cultivate the presence and patience needed to manifest differently. Using the interplay between yoga, dance, and meditation, we will build the tools that allow us to slow down, wait, and trust in the space that our intentions need to grow. Join us for this day long immersion into your deepest intentions and a new way towards your brightest manifestations.
